Tacoma Christian Center was one of the first churches in this community to host a Back to School event. Our Back to School community outreach program began in 2001 and has continued year after year as a highly sought after annual event. The event provides traditional school supplies such as backpacks, pencils, paper and more along with medical screenings, sports physicals, dental exams, & vision screenings. Additionally there are other resources to address the health care needs of adults along with a host of other community resources. This event also offers a carnival land with games, prizes and entertainment to delight your child/children – ALL at no cost !
The event provides backpacks and school supplies to an average of 1650 children annually. Organizations such as World Vision, MultiCare Health System, Walgreens and more have partnered with us to bring this annual event to fruition.
