Prayer Type:  Declarations/Faith

  • by

Definition:

Faith is believing that something we hoped for will happen because of God’s grace and power.  We understand that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).  We have full assurance that God’s Word is true and that His Will prevails.  Declarations are proclaiming God’s Word out loud with a confidence that both the spiritual and the natural world will respond.  When you declare things in faith, you are stating what you believe will come to pass; you are interjecting God’s promises, authority, and truth into the situation with assurances that it will dictate the outcome.  When you are firmly standing on God’s Word, you can make bold statements into the spirit realm.  You must know that spiritual forces hear and respond.

Scriptures:

Job 22:28:  “You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways”.

Isaiah 55:11: “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

James 1:5, John 12:50, John 15:7, Ephesians 3:20, Mark 11:23

Methods:

  • Declare that the name of the Lord and His Ways will prevail in the earth (Romans 9:17)
  • Find a scripture related to your need and proclaim it to be so, for example – “this is a need, and my God shall supply all my needs according to Philippians 4:19”.
  • Believe in the power of words (Hebrews 11:3, Proverbs 18:31) and speak confidently, as one made in God’s image and likeness if there is Scriptural support behind the declaration.
  • Speak to the mountain, as in Mark 11:23, “for assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
